Development plots in villages are far and few between so our client was very lucky to get her hands on this site. It is the bottom half of a terrace house garden which had access to a back lane. This meant that the plot was quite narrow but we managed to design a 3 bedroom detached house with enough space on the side for access to the back. The plot came with planning permission for a traditional storey and a half cottage. We developed the scheme, by adding a timber clad volume to the back. This enlarged the kitchen and added a master bedroom upstairs. We enlarged the windows to maximise light and continued the timber cladding to the dormers to tie the front and back elevations together.
