Gold Hill House

Gold Hill House

This project is planned to be on site in August 2018.

Our clients required extra space to the rear of their property, to provide a family room opening to the back garden and a master bedroom, with en-suite upstairs. We found it impossible to extend the house traditionally, without destroying a large part of the rear elevation. We thus decided  to design a modern extension, in complete contrast and detached from the existing traditional building, which preserved its character and fabric. The new volume is linked by glass on the ground floor, allowing for full views of the existing elevation. On the upper floor, it is connected by steps off the stair landing. The existing buildings structure will not be altered in any way. The materials used are render and glass on the ground floor and metal  standing seam panels on the upper floor.
