Fairley House
Moving into modern living whilst respecting the integrity of the original arts and crafts style building.
The original property underwent a significant transformation that addressed its shortcomings with a thoughtful redesign. The initial poorly designed rear extension and undersized garage were removed, to make way for a more functional and aesthetically pleasing two-story rear extension. This new addition not only enhances the property's overall appeal but also significantly improves its functionality.
The upper level of the new extension boasts a luxurious suite, complete with a bedroom, snug/study, dressing room, and en-suite bathroom. This addition provides a private and comfortable retreat for the homeowners, offering a perfect blend of relaxation and productivity. The ground floor saw the expansion of the existing kitchen to create a spacious open-plan kitchen/dining/living room. The incorporation of floor-to-ceiling windows not only floods the space with natural light but also offers picturesque views of the garden, seamlessly merging the indoors with the outdoors.
Moreover, the garage was replaced with a versatile storage area, gym, and sauna, catering to the homeowners' lifestyle needs. The addition of an open carport and covered barbecue space further enhances the property's functionality and entertainment options. The strategic placement of these new structures not only optimises the use of space but also ensures the homeowners' privacy, while they enjoy their outdoor living spaces.
Overall, the redesign of the property has not only addressed its previous shortcomings but has also elevated its functionality, aesthetic appeal, and overall value. The thoughtful consideration of the homeowners' needs and preferences has resulted in a space that is both practical and luxurious, offering a perfect balance between comfort, style, and functionality.
